Description
This course is available for purchase by CMI-certified instructors only for use prior to classroom training and mock proficiency demonstrations. The mock training is not included in this course. This video is the first of three parts to CMI BAT training - the second is the instrument instruction video and the third part is the mock proficiency demonstrations. The purpose of the established guidelines for this training is to ensure that Breath Alcohol Technicians conduct breath tests in accordance with the most current Alcohol testing procedures as stated in 49 CFR Part 40.
Objectives
The key elements of this video will provide educational information regarding:
- A History of Breath alcohol testing and how it evolved
- The goals of the training process
- The Federal requirements of obtaining a “BAT” certificate
- The required steps in managing or accomplishing a successful Breath alcohol collection
- Dealing with Obstacles that might arise during the testing process
- Proper handling required paperwork involved with a DOT Alcohol collection.
Upon completion of You training, you should be able to:
- Explain the transportation workplace alcohol testing program to the test subject
- Explain Evidential Breath Test (EBT) methodology, operation, and calibration checks
- Demonstate the proper procedures for conducting a breath alcohol test and documenting the results.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating the EBT that you will use for alcohol testing
